| ADVANCED TRAINING in FIRE FIGHTING Scope This course is developed to answer the call of Shipping Companies to refresh and enhance their seafarers in Advance Fire Fighting. Enhance their leadership, develop confidence and help promote safety at work where they are committed. Whether onboard a tug or barge, fishing vessel or cruise ship, oil rig or deep sea vessel, the need to prevent or contain and extinguish fires is essential. The course is designed to give trainees thorough understanding of types of fire, methods of extinguishing, and onboard fire fighting equipment. Including the use of breathing apparatus and search and rescue skills. It is also aim to strengthen the leadership skills and confidence of the participants in leading a fire emergency through a number of practical command and control exercises, rescue techniques, casualty evacuation practices and live fire fighting exercises. Objectives On completion of the training, the trainees will have sufficient knowledge and understanding to enable them:
Entry Standards Trainees taking this course must be certified by a physician to be in good health and had completed the basic and advance training in fire fighting. And has at least 12 months sea experienced within 5 years onboard domestic or foreign vessel, on the date of enrollment.
ELEMENTARY FIRST AID (TMTCP Refresher Course 06-007) Schedule
ELEMENTARY FIRST AID Aim This course aims to answer the call of shipping companies to refresh and enhance the knowledge and skills of their seafarers in basic safety training and instruction specifically Elementary First Aid in accordance with Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code. Objective Trainee who successfully completes this course will be able to refresh and enhance their knowledge and skills required by 1995 STCW Convention Chapter VI Section A-VI/1 Table A-VI/3. On meeting the minimum standard of competence in elementary firs aid, a trainee will be competent to take immediate action upon encountering an accident or medical emergency until the arrival of a person with medical first aid skills or the person in charge of medical care on board. Entry Standards The training is designed to refresh the knowledge and skills of seafarers in a specific manning company, who completed the basic safety training and has a shipboard experience of at least 12 months onboard foreign or domestic vessel within 5 years on the date of enrollment.
PERSONAL SURVIVAL TECHNIQUES Aim This course aims to answer the call of shipping companies to refresh and enhance the knowledge and skills of their seafarers in basic safety training and instruction specifically in Personal Survival Techniques in accordance with Section A-VI/1 of STCW Code. Objectives A trainee who successfully completes this course will be able to refreshed and enhance their knowledge and skills in:

BASIC FIRE FIGHTING Aims This course aims to answer the call of shipping companies to refresh and enhance the knowledge and skills of their seafarers in basic safety training and instruction specifically in Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting in accordance with Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code. Objectives A trainee who successfully completes this course will be able to refreshed and enhance their knowledge and skills in:
Entry Standards The training is designed to refresh the knowledge and skills of seafarers in a specific manning company, who completed the basic safety training and has a shipboard experience of at least 12 months onboard foreign or domestic vessel within 5 years on the date of enrollment. All trainees must be physically fit as certified by a Medical Doctor.
PERSONAL SAFETY and SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Aims This course aims to meet answer the call of shipping companies to refresh and enhance the knowledge and skills of their seafarers in basic safety training and instruction in accordance with Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code. Objectives A trainee successfully completing this course will be able to: Observing safe working practices Entry standards The training is designed to refresh the knowledge and skills of seafarers in a specific manning company, who completed the basic safety training and has a shipboard experience of at least 12 months onboard foreign or domestic vessel within 5 years on the date of enrollment.
Ratings Forming Part of Navigational Watch Refresher Course Scope This refresher course is developed to answer the call of shipping companies to refresh and enhance the knowledge and skills of their seafarers, based on the requirements of Regulation II/4 of Chapter II, Section A-II, Table A-II/4, STCW-78 as amended in1995 as mandatory requirements for Rating Forming Parts Navigational Watch, navigation functions at the support level. Objectives On successful completion of the refresher course and assessment/examination, trainee should be able to demonstrate competence in performing the navigational function at the support level as specified in column 1 and 2 of Table A-II/4 of the STCW Code. In addition, to encourage safety consciousness, trainees will have acquired working knowledge, understanding and proficiency as well as the demonstration of competence in watchkeeping, protection of the marine environment and safety of life at sea. Entry Standard The training is design to refresh the knowledge and skills of seafarers who already completed Ratings Forming Part of Navigational Watch Course and has at least 12 months sea experience within 5 years on the date of enrollment. GENERAL TANKER FAMILIARIZATION (TMTCP Refresher Course 06-012) Scope This refresher course is developed to answer the call of Shipping Companies to refresh and enhance the knowledge and skills of their seafarers with assigned specific duties and responsibilities related to cargo and cargo equipment on tankers. It comprises of topics to refresh their memory characteristics of tanker cargoes, their associated hazards, safety measures, pollution prevention, emergency operations, cargo equipment and operations. The course takes account of section A-V/1 of the STCW Code adopted by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers 1978, as amended in 1995. Objective A trainee who successfully completes this refresher course will be able to refresh and enhance his knowledge and skills in performing his duties and responsibilities related to cargo and cargo equipment on board tanker vessels. Entry standards Trainee must have a certificate on SBFF and GTF. And has at least 12 months shipboard experience on tanker vessel within 5 years on the date of enrollment. Schedule
MARPOL I (TMTCP Refresher Course 06-014) Scope This refresher course provides refresher training for masters, deck officers, engineer officers and ratings in order to enable them to maintain and operate a ship in accordance with MARPOL 73/78 Annex I regulations, with a view to protecting the marine environment against oil pollution from ships and preventing ships being delayed in port as a result of port state action. The course is presented in two parts. Part I explains the purpose and arrangement of the Convention and its five Annexes, and provides detailed guidance on the Annex I requirements applicable to machinery spaces of ships. Part II covers the Annex I requirements applicable to oil tankers and to tank washings, cargo and ballast operations onboard oil tankers. This course is designed to answer the call of shipping companies to refresh and enhance their seafarer’s knowledge and skills to satisfy the requirements of Regulation II/1 and Regulation III/1 of the STCW-78 Convention as amended. Objectives Those successfully completing the course should be able to refresh their knowledge and increase their concern about pollution of the marine environment, understand the impact of oil pollution, describe how ships contribute to this form of pollution and explain the international rules aimed at preventing such pollution. In addition the trainees must also be able to explain in detail the principles involved in the prevention of marine pollution by cargo oil through specific construction and equipment requirements for oil tankers, and to comply effectively with the relevant operational requirements. Entry Standards This refresher course is intended for masters, deck officers, engineer officer and ratings of ships of any type. Who completed the training in MARPOL I and has at least 12 months sea experience with 5 years on the date of enrollment. The course may also be attended by those who are familiar with ships and whose duties require them to be acquainted with the provisions for the prevention of oil pollution from ships. Schedule
MARPOL II (TMTCP Refresher Course 06-015) Scope This refresher course covers is design to answer the call of Shipping Companies to refresh and enhance the training for masters and deck officers of chemical tankers in the maintenance and operation of their ships in accordance with the provisions of MARPOL 73/78. Because their work is closely linked with shipboard operations, the refresher course also beneficial for chemical terminal operators and for those working in the cargo or chartering departments of chemical tanker operators. The training provided by the course is incorporated into the advanced training programme on chemical tanker operations required under regulation V/2 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 (STCW 1978). The course does not deal with the general provisions of MARPOL 73/78 (refer to model course 1.11, MARPOL 73/78 – Annex I, for a discussion of this material), but is limited to Annex II of the Convention. The course explains the criteria used for categorizing noxious liquid substances according to the hazard they represent to the environment, the ships types in which they may be carried and the conditions under which they may be discharged. It provides instruction on the means by which it is ensured that a chemical tanker can proceed to sea only if residues of noxious liquid substances have been reduced to negligible quantities which, when discharged into the sea, will not harm the marine environment. It explains the certificate that vessels require in order to carry noxious liquid substances, and stresses the need for keeping records of loading, unloading and discharge operations and for effecting immediate repairs. The course finally explains the priorities involved in cases of force majeure, where considerations of safety of life at sea may take precedence over those concerning protection of the marine environment. Objectives Those successfully completing this course will thereby be enabled to refresh and enhance their knowledge and skills in:
Entry Standards Trainees entering the course should have knowledge of and experience in the carriage of liquid chemicals in bulk; trainees in this category could include masters and deck officers serving in chemical tankers who have not completed the specialized training programme referred to in STCW regulation V/2(6) and those personnel who are in effective charge of shore activities associated with loading or unloading chemical tankers. Seafaring personnel must have completed MARPOL 73/78 – Annex I and Annex II and at least 12 months sea experience within 5 years on the date of enrollment. Schedule
PROFICIENCY in SURVIVAL CRAFT and RESCUE BOAT Scope This refresher course is developed to answer the call of Shipping Companies to refresh and enhance the knowledge and skills of their seafarers in PSC & RB, so that they will be able to launch and take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat in emergency situations, in accordance with Section A-VI/2 of the STCW Code. Objectives A trainee who successfully completes this refresher course will be able to refresh and enhance his knowledge and skills as required by the 1995 STCW Convention Chapter VI, Section A-VI/12-1. On meeting the minimum standard of competence in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats, a trainee will be competent to operate life-saving appliances and take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat during or after launch. They will also be able to operate a survival craft engine and manage survivors and survival craft after abandoning the ship. Trainees will know the correct use of all locating devices, including communication and signaling apparatus and pyrotechnics and the actions to take to preserve the lives of those in their charge. For admission to the course, seafarers must be certified by a doctor to be in good health. They must also have completed the four basic courses covering the basic safety training and instruction in accordance with Regulation VI/1 of STCW 1995. Must also completed the PSC & RB course and must have at least 12 months of shipboard experience within 5 years on the date of enrollment. Schedule
RATINGS FORMING PART of ENGINEERING WATCH Scope This refresher course covers the training recommended in Chapter III, Regulation III/4, Chapter III, Section A-III/4 and Chapter III, Section B-III/4 STCW-78 Convention as amended in 1995. Objective The trainees who successfully complete this refresher course will be able to perform the duties, responsibilities and competency of a rating forming part of an engineering watch. SHORE-BASED FIRE FIGHTING for TANKERS Scope This refresher course is developed to answer the call of Shipping Companies to refresh and enhance the knowledge and skills of their seafarers training required in Regulation V/I, paragraph 1 which states “ officers and ratings assigned specific duties and responsibilities related to cargo or cargo equipment on tankers shall have completed an approved shore-based fire fighting course in addition to the training required by Regulation V/I of STCW – 78 Convention as amended in 1995”. Objectives A trainee who successfully completes this refresher course shall be able to refresh and enhance their knowledge with the preventive emergency procedures and fire fighting systems and resources typically provided along a Tanker Terminal/Port and which in the event of fire alongside, at anchor or on Ship-to-Ship Operation within the jurisdiction of a local (port) authority, may usefully contribute towards a successful combined fire fighting attack which would lead to the control and extinguishments of the fire. Entry Standards This refresher course is open to all officers or ratings assigned specific duties and responsibilities related to cargo or cargo equipment on tankers / have completed Shore-based Fire Fighting Course and have at least 12 months sea experience within 5 years on the date of enrollment.
